Timothy J. Roberts

Timothy Johnson Roberts, 61, went peacefully to the Lord on Monday, April 2, 2018 with his wife and high school sweetheart of 39 years, Phyllis Huffman Roberts, by his side. A native of Ashley Heights and a resident of Monroe, he leaves behind two daughters, Ashley and Jason Wheeler of Wilmington, and Jodie and Steve Chiambretti of Mint Hill, and two beautiful granddaughters, Merritt Wheeler & Olivia Chiambretti who will miss their Daddy and PopPop indefinitely. In addition, he leaves behind his mother, Marjorie Johnson Roberts of Southern Pines, siblings Linda Sealy of Summerville, South Carolina, Tom & Dawn Roberts of Greensboro, Terry and Sue Roberts of Lenoir, and his in-laws, Phillip and Sue Huffman of Wagram, and Lisa and Dean Rexroth of Valdosta, Georgia who loved him like a son and brother for more than 40 years.
This life was not big enough for him, and whether you were one of his golf buddies, a business partner, a neighbor, a fellow church member, a childhood friend, a friend of anyone close to him or simply had the good fortune of making his acquaintance once, he made you feel like you were the only person on earth. He was the light in any room, organizer of group fun, dancing machine and tickle monster. Most importantly was his leadership in his faith and family, where he led by example. From humble roots, he never let his past get in his way and made the life he wanted for his family. He had an incredible work ethic, working for Cuddy Farms for more than 15 years and then founded his company D&T Management with partner Dan Turner, to make sure everyone in America had a taste of Swaggerty's Sausage. He always focused on his blessings and walked each day with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who he gave credit for all his successes.
His service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Lee Park Baptist Church, 2505 Morgan Mill Road Monroe, NC 28110 followed by a celebration of life reception in the Family Life Center. Burial will be private. The family asks any donations be directed to his church, Lee Park Baptist, where his friend and Pastor Chris Justice and staff can continue to preach the word and love people.
