Bobby Lee Rose

Bobby Lee Rose of Raeford died Friday, April 17, 2015 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 73.

He was born October 7, 1941 in Hoke County to the late Clarence Rose and Audrey Mae Butler Rose. He was a member of the Wagram Church of God and was employed with Burlington Industries.

He is survived by his son Mark Rose and his wife Melissa of Naples Florida, his brother Earl Rose and his wife Vickie of Rockingham, and two grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Rose of Naples.

Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Wagram Church of God, 21741 McKay Street Wagram.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Wagram Church of God with Pastor Ricky Brewer officiating.

Interment will be in the Raeford Cemetery.

Elaine Burbon, 68, of Raeford, died Saturday, April 11, 2015.
The funeral will be held Thursday, April 16 at 11:30 a.m. in McPhatter Funeral Home chapel in Laurel Hill. 
Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Laurinburg.

Mary Little-Elliott

Mary Little-Elliott, 66 of 5490 Richwood Court, Fayetteville, died April 13, 2015.
Survivors are: her husband, Herbert; son, Herrick E. Little; brother, Thomas E. Little; sister, Ulva V. Little; and a host of family and friends. 
The funeral will be held on Saturday April 18, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in A New Beginning Committed to God Purpose Ministry in Raeford, NC. Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens. 
There will be a viewing held on Friday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Linda S. Tedder

Linda Saunders Tedder of Red Springs, died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at her home, at the age of 61.

She was born on Sept. 24, 1953 Scotland County to the late James Alex Saunders and Retha English Saunders.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry D. Tedder and two grandchildren, Julia and Justin Dial. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Tedder of Red Springs; three sons, James Tedder and his wife Sandy of Raeford, Toby Tedder and his wife Cassie of Hope Mills, and Gary Tedder of Brooklyn, New York; a brother Carl Saunders and his wife Linda of  Long Island, New York; three sisters, Helen Caulder of Raeford, JoAnn Goins and her husband Floyd of Red Springs, and Patsy Locklear of Raeford; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Crumpler Funeral Home 220 East 4th Ave, Red Springs.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2105 at Temple Baptist Church Hwy 211 Red Springs with Pastor Floyd Goins officiating.

Burial will be in the Saunders Family Cemetery, Cope Road, Red Springs.

Clara B. Frierson

Clara B. Frierson, 97, of 660 Scott Currie Road, died Monday, April 6, 2015.
Survivors are: daughter, Andremeda Cagle; sons, Willie, Rogers and Kennedy; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral was held Sunday, April 12 at 3:30 p.m. in Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in Highland Biblical Gardens.

Jimmy L. Michael

Jimmy Lewis Michael of Pinebluff, age 52, died Monday April 6, 2015 at his home.
He was born in Moore County on July 27, 1962, to the late John and Betty Fields Michael. He was owner and operator of Michael's Electric in Pinebluff and formally employed with Lowe's in Fayetteville.
Survivors are: two sisters, Rhonda Kennedy (Michael) and Sandy Bureau (Craig); two brothers, Jerry Michael (Phyzzie) and Larry Michael, four nieces, Jennifer Bureau, Michelle Bureau, Lisa Kennedy and Larie Kennedy.
A private Memorial Service will be Later. Crumpler Funeral Home in Pinebluff served the family.

Ellen Hubbard



Ellen "Susie" Hubbard of Raeford died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the age of 73.
She was born in Cumberland County on November 7, 1941 to the late Lee Roy Sherman, Sr. and Roxie Mae Hill Sherman. She was preceded in death by her son, Willie C. Hubbard, Jr. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Survivors are:  her husband, Willie C. Hubbard, Sr. of Raeford; her son John C. Hubbard of Eastover; her daughter, Angel Rose Croyle (Kevin) of Fayetteville; her sisters, Dorothy Finley (Larry) of West End, Mary Couch (Charles) of Fayetteville, Hilda Parker (Robert) of Fayetteville; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Monday, April 13 at 1 p.m. in LaFayette Memorial Park West on Raeford Road in Fayetteville.

Bishop Neil W. McPhatter, 91 of Raeford, died Saturday, April 04, 2015.
Survivors are: his wife, Elder Artie C. McPhatter; children, Johnnie M. Roper, Betty Redmon, Wesley McPhatter, and Helen McNeill; sisters, Betty McLaughlin, Ellouise Burrell, and Harlena Kershaw; brother, Ernest McPhatter; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Thursday, April 9 at 1 p.m. in the Matthew Rouse Center. Burial will be in the Lilly's Chapel Cemetery in Red Springs.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, April 8 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home. The wake will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at St. Andrews Holiness Church.

Flora Holmes Tyson, 91, of 156 Dockery Road, died Friday, April 3, 2015.
Survivors are: two nieces; and three nephews.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, April 8 at 4 p.m. in Silver Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in church cemetery. 
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April  at 1 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home in Raeford.

Bobby Conerly Jr.

 

Bobby Conerly, Jr.,  age 58, died Wednesday, April 2, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bobby, Sr. and Mattie Conerly, and brother Stephen Conerly.

The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, April 7 from 1 to 2 p.mThe funeral will be Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Hopewell United Methodist Church, Newton Grove, the Rev. Adam Brinkley officiating. Burial will be at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by a daughter, Amy Shelton and husband Joshua of Wilmington; grandchildren Christopher and Eli Shelton; sister Marci Johnson and husband Keith of Autryville; brothers John Conerly and wife Jean of Newton Grove and  Michael Conerly and wife Sonia of Fuquay Varina.

Jack C. Beasley

Jack Currie Beasley, 87, of Cashiers, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of Hoke County and a Merchant Marine Navy veteran, he was the son of the late Chester Robert and Ruby Margaret Bouyer Beasley. He was preceded in death by a son Mark Beasley and a brother C.B. Beasley.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lorena Corbin Beasley; one daughter Christi Cain of Fayetteville; one son Jack Beasley Jr. of Sandusky, Ohio; six sisters, Betty Simmons, Delauris Ellis, Joyce Bostic, Helen Jackson, Mickey McNeill, and Barbara Daniels; three brothers, Sam, Bucky, and Wayne Beasley; five grandchildren, Sarah Beasley, Michael Beasley, Summer Skye Kane, Jacob Spell and Jesse Cain; and two great-grandchildren, Jack Kane and Addison Patterson.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Norton Community Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Norris officiating. No formal visitation is planned.

Curtiss McLaughlin

Curtiss McLaughlin, 76, of Southern Pines died Saturday, March 28, 2015.
Survivors are: his wife, Hattie McLaughlin; son, Antonio McLaughlin; seven stepchildren, Roger, Direk, Carlette, Chanel, Maria, Melinda, and Denise; sister, Daisy Byrd; three brothers, Claude McQueen, Lester McQueen, and Linwood Wright; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held Thursday, April 2 at 1 p.m. in Grace Church of Southern Pines.  Burial will be held in the Aberdeen Cemetery in Aberdeen.  Visitation will be held in Grace Church one hour prior to service.

Harron Willeek Carson, 23, of Aberdeen, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 in FirstHealth Moore Regional.
Survivors are: mother, Bernice Thompson; father, Harry Lee Carson; sisters, Shamika Braziel, Iesha Carson, and Kenya Hannah; brothers, De'Adrian Braziel and Harry Carson.
The funeral will be held Friday, April 3 at 1 p.m. at Christ's Way Community Church in Aberdeen. Viewing will be held Thursday, April 2 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Purcell Funeral Home in Southern Pines.

Edna B. Moore

Edna Faye Blackwell Moore of St. Pauls died March 29, 2015 at Autumn Care of Raeford at the age of 73.

She was born in Warrenton on April 25, 1941, to the late Benjamin and Edna Bryson Blackwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher Moore and her brother, Charles Blackwell. She was the co-owner of Trash and Treasure in St. Pauls.

She is survived by a special friend Alvin Money of St. Pauls; two sisters, Rosetta Sheeder (Arthur) of Fayetteville, and Bonnie Davis (Richard) of Raeford; brother Willis Blackwell of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday April 1, 2015 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford with Herman Autry, Ruling Elder, PCUSA officiating.

Survivors are: son, George; sisters, Dornetta Nicholson and Lena Simpson; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sunday, March 29 at 2 p.m. in Buie Funeral Home chapel in Raeford. Burial was in McLaughlin Chapel Church cemetery.
