Billly H. Barefoot Jr.
He was born in Moore County on January 18, 1963, to the late Billy Howard Barefoot Sr. and Janice Threatt D'Amico.
He is survived by his wife Julie L. Barefoot of Jackson Springs; three daughters, Deanna Pressnell and her husband Joey of Carthage, Ashley Wysocki and her husband Nick of West End, and Jennifer Powell and her husband Shelton of Hope Mills; eight grandchildren, Ethan, Catherine, Junior, Hailey, Mason, Lee, Roxanne, and Hazel.; two brothers, David Barefoot and his wife Michelle of Raeford, and Todd Barefoot and his wife Tricia of New York; and two sisters, Cindy Crow and her husband Lewis of Fayetteville, and Natalie Spencer and her husband Gary of Raeford.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford.
The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.

Don Tyler
He was born July 15, 1963 to the late Joseph Daniel Tyler and Adell Sturdivant. He served with the NC National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Tyler.
He is survived by his companion Patsy Ann Jones of Raeford; three daughters, Donna Tyler-Ferguson and her husband Jordan, Tabitha Tyler, and Summer A'dele Tyler, all of Raeford; three sons, Joseph Locklear of Red Springs, Mario McMillian of Raleigh, and Chase Locklear of Red Springs; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Patty McNeill and her husband Bruce of Shannon, Lisa Jacobs of Raeford, and Glenda Oxendine and her husband Timothy of Red Springs; and a half-brother, James Bullard and his wife Fannie of Red Springs.
Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford, with the funeral following at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in the Tyler Family Cemetery.

Ret. SFC Donald G. Futrell
He was born on February 17, 1964 to the late Donald and Ella Futrell. He retired from the US Army in 2006 with over 96 jumps. He was an avid mustang enthusiast. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years Rose Mary Futrell of Raeford; four children, Amanda Barnes and her husband Brad of New London, Adam Futrell of Cary, Jessica Futrell of Raeford, and Joseph Futrell of Raeford; seven grandchildren, Emma, Gavin, Tyler, Quinn, Vincent, Peyton and Roman; two brothers, Gregory Futrell and his wife Joy of Tar Heel, and Kevin Futrell and his wife Chrystal of Raeford; and three sisters, Sherry Cummings and her husband Walter of Raeford, Lisa Locklear and her husband Burke of Raeford, and Carolyn Clark and her husband Patrick of Asheboro.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford, NC.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the funeral home chapel with Evangelist Daryl Goins officiating.
Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery with full military honors.

Zyrique Grace
Zyrique Grace, 22, of Raeford, answered the master's call and entered into eternal rest on Monday August 9, 2021.
A service of celebration to honor his life and legacy will be held on Saturday August 21, 2021 at the Grace Tabernacle Christian Center, located at 3640 Applegate Road, Hope Mills. The family will receive relatives and friends during a public visitation between the hours of 11 a.m.-noon. The funeral will follow the quiet hour immediately.

Nakoya Markus Maynor
Nakoya Markus Maynor, 25, of Shannon died August 9, 2021.
He was born April 20, 1996 in Cumberland County.
Nakoya loved to love people and made friends everywhere he went. He had a big heart and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. His interests included baseball/softball and chickens.
Nakoya leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Nakoya Markus Maynor, II; his parents, Tish Maynor and William McPhaul; and his biological father, David Cummings. Nakoya was adored by his grandparents, Ronald and Patricia Maynor, who considered him as a son. He was also survived by a great grandmother, Eula Maynor; his two sisters, Sariya Julian McPhaul and Corletha Bartley; an aunt, Stacy Maynor Godwin and husband, Cory Godwin; a great-nephew, Jace Godwin; an uncle, Steven Cummings and wife, Tonya Cummings; and a host of other friends and family.
Visitation was held Friday, August 13 at Heritage Funeral Home in Red Springs. A funeral was held Saturday, August 14 at Dundarrach Baptist Church.

Harold "Melvin" Dove
Harold "Melvin" Dove, 90, died Monday, August 9, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born February 20, 1931 at the Dove home-place on Hope Mills/Parkton Road. He was the youngest child of Gordon Daniel Dove and Sudie Thaggard Dove.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was active in his community, serving three terms as a Hope Mills Town Commissioner and Mayor Pro Tem, a past Master of Lebanon Lodge 391, and a member of the Lions Club for more than 30 years. He was also an active and faithful member of Highland Baptist Church and served in many positions in the church.
He made a career in the recycling business. He was the owner and manager of Raeford Salvage and was associated with both Cohen and Green and Raeford Salvage for 52 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, Gordon Jr., Charlie, Louise, J.D. and his brother-in-law, Robert G. Byrd.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Juanita Byrd Dove; daughter, Denise Dove Hall and husband Jim; granddaughter, Liz Jackson and husband Brian and a great granddaughter, Ella Kate; and sister-in-law, Linda Byrd.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Highland Baptist Church, 4456 Legion Rd. Hope Mills, NC 28348 with Pastor Danny Anderson officiating.
A private burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church or to the Shriners Children Hospital.

Amy B. Miller
She was born in Cumberland County on November 5, 1967. Her husband Tommy Miller died the same day as his wife Amy on August 13, 2021. She was also preceded in death by father, John D. Black, and her sister Mary Sheila Black. She was a graduate of Louisburg College and UNC Pembroke, and she received her master's degree from East Carolina University.
She is survived by her daughter Alexis Turnage and her husband Ryan of Zebulon; a son, Joey Miller of Zebulon; two grandchildren, Aubrey and Austin Turnage of Zebulon; her mother, Mary Smith Balch and her husband George of Raeford; a sister, Beth Black of Raeford; and two brothers, Randy Black and his wife Kathy of Raeford, and Jeffrey Black of Raeford.
Visitation will be held 2-3 p.m. Tuesday in the fellowship hall of Sandy Grove United Methodist Church. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Josh Tester officiating.

Lyda Jordan
She was born in Hoke County on August 24, 1934, to the late James Archie Williams and Gladys Raye Maness Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband Riley M. Jordan M.D., her son James "Jimmy" Douglas Soles, a son-in-law Dr. Eric M. Larsen, a sister Peggy W. Summers and a stepson Walter "Walley" Baker Jordan. She attended Southern Pines Baptist Church. Mrs. Jordan was a volunteer at FirstHealth Reid Heart Center in Pinehurst.
She is survived by a daughter Karen S. Larsen of West End, NC; three grandchildren Jason Kennedy, Joey Kennedy and Christopher Soles; three stepsons, Mike Jordan, and his wife Beth of Georgetown, SC, Bob Jordan and his wife Amy of Cary, NC and John Jordan and his wife Polly of Raeford, NC, three stepdaughters Beth Foster and her husband Bill of Ann Arbor, MI, Kim Williamson and her husband Don of Ocean Isle, NC, and Suzanne McGougan and her husband Joe of Spartanburg, SC. Several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm on Monday, August 16, 2021, at the Raeford Cemetery.

Dorothy Daniels
She was born in Rumford, Maine on April 21, 1946 to the late Stowell Eustis and Dorothy McGuire Eustis. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Timberlake, and several brothers.
She is survived by her husband Charles V. Daniels of Raeford; a daughter, Robin Scott and her husband Leslie of Raeford; two stepchildren, Brian Daniels and his wife Tammy of Raeford and Sherry Wood of Rockfish; 10 grandchildre; one great-grandson; a brother, Wallace Eustis of Washington; and a sister, Susan Clark of Maine.

Patricia M. Walker
Patricia Maxwell Walker, 80 of Sanford, died August 3, 2021.
Born the only child of Sarah and Henry Maxwell, she spent all her professional life as an elementary teacher in Hoke, Lee and Montgomery counties.
She is survived by her husband, John Max Walker; daughter, Mitzi Barber (Mike); sons, Max Walker and Mike Walker (Beth); and grandchildren, Kennedy Barber, Chase Barber, Jonathan Walker, Mackenzie Walker, Clayton Walker, and Collin Walker.

Michael Moore
He was born on November 20, 1951, in Mobile, Alabama to the late Grover Moore and Dorothy Pereira Moore. After growing up across America, he served in the U.S. Army. Later, he worked as an aircraft mechanic for the Golden Knights Army Parachute Team. After leaving the military, he met his wife, Kimberly Thacker at her family's business at what is now PK Airpark in Raeford. He was a man of many talents, from playing the harmonica to cooking, landscaping, and being a passionate Alabama Football Fan. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kimberly Moore; his daughters, Lindsay Moore and Taylor Moore; mother-in-law, Billie Thacker; siblings, Richard Moore, Bonnie Felker, Jeri Moore, and Scott Moore; brothers-in-law, Tony and Tim Thacker; and grandchildren, Charlie, Madison, and Raegan Grace.
Services will be held at a later date.
Arthur F. Taylor
He was born in Richmond, Virginia on June 2, 1943 to the late Woodford David Taylor and Elizabeth Marie Thomas Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Taylor. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1984 as a Master Chief.
He is survived by two sons, Timothy F. Taylor and his wife Rhonda of California and Ronnie W. Taylor of Virginia, and a grandson.
A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday at Crumpler Funeral Home, Raeford.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m.Friday at Highland Biblical Gardens.

Vera Bennett
She was born in Charleston SC, on Sept. 29, 1945, to the late Joseph Nealy Smith and Verajean Harrison Smith. She was a prayer warrior and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Her devotion and faith in Christ never wavered even through her sickness. She found great joy in traveling across the world, cooking, sewing, and being a Pastors wife.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Stephen Wayne Bennett of Raeford; a daughter Deborah B. Locklear and her husband Kevin of Raeford; and two grandchildren Dustin Locklear and Karissa Locklear both of Raeford.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday, July 26, 2021, at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford.
The funeral will be held 2:00 pm Tuesdayat Hillcrest Baptist Church, 2699 US-401 Business, Raeford. with Pastor Trent Haywood officiating.
Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.
