Jasper Morrison

Jasper Morrison of Raeford passed away Monday, February 13, 2023 at the age of 85.

He was born in Friendship, North Carolina to Charlie Morrison and Ronnie Walden on May 25, 1937.

He was known to everyone as Jay. Jay served in the Navy and after that he was employed as a welder and maintenance mechanic in his secular career.

He had a very charismatic personality and loved talking with people, especially about Jehovah. He loved the truth and served as a pioneer for many years. Golf was always a passion for him as well as his beloved canines.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Ancha Morrison, who was always by his side; a daughter, Debbie Walters, and a son-in-law Wayne Walters; a grandson, Kody Walters; three sisters, Riola Stewart, Joyce Kelly, Anna Morrison; one brother, Malon Morrison; as well as a host of friends and family.

Eleanor Locklear

Eleanor Locklear of Shannon died Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at the age of 79.

She was born on April 15, 1943 to the late Wilson and Mary Cook.

She was a beloved member of Praise and Worship Ministries of Red Springs, NC where she taught Sunday school for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Marvin Locklear.

She is survived by her two children, David and Barbara Locklear.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Praise and Worship Ministries of Red Springs. 9625 NC-71, Red Springs, NC 28377 with Reverend Ricky Deese officiating.

Robin McGarry

Robin McGarry died February 11, 2023 in her home at the age of 63.

She was born in Florida on August 8, 1959 to the late Thomas Haywood Ward and Linda Ward.

She was a member of Rockfish Church in Raeford. She spent a lot of her spare time helping with activities at church.

She was an amazing woman who brought joy to everyone she met. She enjoyed helping people in need, and was a member of the community outreach.

She is survived by her husband Robert McGarry; her mother, Linda Ward; Craig Ward (Patty); Cale Ward (Kelsey), Nathan Ward (Kim), Sadie Ward; Debbie Newton (Arnold), Clay Ward (Emmie), Mary Dempsey, Raymond Ward, Alice Hall (Larry), Jean Ward (Bonnie), John (Doug) Eden (Donna), Hope Eden, and Justin Newton.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Rockfish Church in Raeford, 9949 Fayetteville Rd, Raeford, N.C. 28376
