William F. Daniels
The Rev. William Frank Daniels, 61, of Raeford died Friday June 29, 2012 in Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.
Born May 28, 1951, in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of Harry Sammons Daniels and Gertrude McKenzie Daniels Averett.
He was a faithful member of Antioch Presbyterian Church during his early Christian walk. His friendships came to many. He was devoted to his faith, family, and friends. He became a buyer for Fleishmans in Fayetteville, and a Belk Store Manager in Lexington, Aberdeen and Southern Pines. He served as organist at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Southern Pines, First Presbyterian Church in Lexington, and All Souls Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Virginia, and was currently serving at Antioch Presbyterian Church. He served as a Chaplain for Bon Secours, Richmond, Virginia.
He served as executive director of the North Carolina Turkey Festival for many years.
He is survived by his mother, Gertrude McKenzie Daniels Averett; a brother, Harry S. Daniels of Graysville, Alabama; a sister, Judy D. Strother (Leland) of Raeford; nieces Ashley D. Payne (Josh) of Dora, Alabama, Amy S. Harvey (Larry) of Raeford; two nephews Graham Strother (Ashley) of Morehead City and Kyle Daniels of Graysville, Alabama; two great-nephews, Tyler and Brodie Payne; two great-nieces, Laurie Beth and Lillie Grace Harvey; one favorite cousin, Linda Daniels Bobroski of Cranford, New Jersey; and many other cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Antioch Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Hudson officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service.
