Earlene Jacobs of Raeford died Thursday, November 22, 2012 in her home at the age of 73.
She was born in Scotland County on June 2, 1939 to the late Earl Locklear and Lessie Revels Locklear. She was an active member of the Mt. Elim Baptist Church where she served as President of the Women's Missionary Union. Before Mrs. Jacobs retired, she worked as a billing clerk with the House of Raeford. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Jimmie Jacobs of the home; her daughters, Lynette Dial and her husband Clarence of Raeford, Paulette Moore and husband James of Scotland County, Wandalene Locklear and her husband, Ricky of Kempner, Texas; her son, Jimmie Earl Jacobs of Red Springs; her brothers, James C. Locklear and his wife Roma, Yorktown, Virginia, David Locklear and his wife Bernice of Maxton, Earl Franklin Locklear of Albemarle; her sisters, Lessie Mae Sanchez of Tampa, Florida, Bessie Cook and her husband, J.R. of Scottsville, Virginia, Nancy Ratliff of Raeford; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 220 E. 4th Ave, Red Springs, NC 28377.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Mt. Elim Baptist Church, 921 Wilson Road, Red Springs, with Pastor Chris Webb, Pastor Tony Brewington, and Pastor Timothy Locklear officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Elim Baptist Church Cemetery following the service.
