Paul B Livingston

Paul B. Livingston of Raeford died Thursday May 30, 2013 in his home at the age of 96.
He was born in Hoke County on June 27, 1916 to the late Hector A. Livingston and Katie McBryde Livingston. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Davis Livingston. He was a member of the Raeford United Methodist Church, and the Raeford Masonic Lodge #306. He served as past master, secretary, chaplain, and coach. He was also past president of the Mecca Shrine Club. He gave faithful service to many occupations in his life—Farmer, The Dundarrch Trading Company, U.S. Postal Service, Burlington Industries, and in the civil service at Fort Bragg. He is the grandson of a confederate veteran, and was a life member of the Hoke McLauchlin Chapter of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans.
He proudly served during WWII in what was then Lumber Bridge National Guard. Some of his achievements include the Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one bronze service star, and WWII Victory Medal.
He was a loving husband, a devoted father, grandfather, and a friend. He was there for anyone in need. Not for glory, honor, awards, or kudos, but because of a selfless desire to help.
He is survived by two sons, Paul M. Livingston (Terrie) of Wake Forest and Charles H. Livingston of Holden Beach; two daughters, Faye L. Lippard (Larry) of Raeford and Ann L. Dubroff (Stan) of Jackson, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Kevin Lippard (Carrie), Amy Anders, Allison Sorce (James), Katie Watkins and Logan Livingston; and five great-grandchildren,
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave, Raeford.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013 in the Raeford Cemetery with the Rev. Adolf Smith officiating.
