Howard Alexander McDougald of Raeford died Thursday, July 3, 2014 in UNC Chapel Hill Hospital, at the age of 90.
He was born July 19, 1923 in Hoke County to the late Daniel Alexander McDougald and Mary Virginia Gibson McDougald. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
He was a member of the Raeford United Methodist Church where he was in the Bob Lewis Sunday School Class. He was owner and operator of McDougald Service Station and McDougald Lawn Mower Service both in Raeford. He was an outstanding citizen in the community and was loved by many.
He is survived by his wife Isabelle Robertson McDougald of Raeford, a daughter Judith (Judy) Ann McDougald of Black Mt.; a granddaughter Holly McDougald McIntyre of Black Mt.; three sisters, Laura M. Sutton of Dallas, Texas, Margorie M. Carpenter of Fayetteville, and Helen M. Craver(Dan) of Bonita Springs, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Raeford United Methodist Church.
The funeral with be at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Raeford United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Castle officiating.
Interment will be in the Raeford Cemetery.
