Mr. Sinclair was born in Fayetteville on Sept. 24, 1930, to Neill Blue Sinclair and Jessie Currie McPhaul Sinclair. Raised in Raeford, North Carolina, he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After serving in the U.S. Army, he embarked on a long career with the North Carolina Milk Commission.
In 1959, he married the former Mary Alice Melvin in Raleigh, where they made their home and raised their family. She predeceased him in 2000.
Mr. Sinclair and his wife, Mary, were charter members of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where Mr. Sinclair served as a deacon, elder and long-standing treasurer.
He is survived by two daughters: Karen and her husband, Steve Davis, and their son, Neill Blue; and Maryneil and her husband, Jim Catlin, all of Raleigh. He is also survived by his brothers: James Archibald Sinclair and John Thomas Sinclair; a sister, Jane Sinclair Grimm; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3120 New Hope Road. The family will receive friends at the church at 1 p.m., prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Raeford Cemetery in Raeford.
