Joseph "Joe" Thomas Lee of Wheat Ridge, Colorado died Oct. 20, 2016.
He was born January 24, 1940 to Vera Lee Walters in Raeford. As a youngster and through high school, he was a resident of Boys Town (Nebraska). He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958-1962. Following his years in service, he attended Adams State College/University on a football scholarship. He was a member of the Alamosa Police Force and Aspen Police Department prior to moving to Denver in 1971 where he operated downtown parking facilities. He retired in 1998. He was an avid bike rider and weightlifter.
He is survived by his beloved son, Joey (Joseph) Thomas Lee II (Lemar), of Los Angeles, California; his former wife Margaret Lee of Denver, Colorado; his aunt O'Lee Bowen; cousins, Ricky and Gayle, of Raeford; and his Boys Town brothers, Bob Curtin (Sharon), and Robert Cross (Margaret.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, at 2 p.m. at Horan & McConaty, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado, with a reception to follow.
