Angela Dillon Kimbrell, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2018. She lived a full life, enjoyed time, conversations and travel with friends and family, and was a voracious reader. She was born on April 28, 1945 in Rockingham County and was the first child of Henry Harold and Bessie Boyd Dillon. She grew up in Raeford and graduated from Hoke High School in 1963. After living in different North Carolina communities, she moved to Wilmington in 1977, where she worked as a bookkeeper, and eventually owned Dillon Accounting Services.
She is survived by her daughter, Elisa Phillips of Washington, North Carolina, son, Lee Phillips of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Allyson and Carson Burney; and brother, Bruce Dillon, and his wife, Christina of Kannapolis. She is preceded in death by her husband, John P. Kimbrell, and her parents.
A visitation and memorial service will be held at Andrews Mortuary and Crematory, Valley Chapel, at 4108 S College Rd, Wilmington. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2 on Saturday, March 17. The Rev. Margaret Hockett will officiate.
