Roger Johnson, born May 16, 1951 in Hardin County, Kentucky passed away Monday August 20, 2018. He lived his life to the fullest and never knew a stranger.
Born into the Army life he was able to start his life of adventure at a young age. His father, Clint, and mother, Nancy, took their five children on a boat and traveled to Okinawa, Japan. He loved the adventures and was proud to have crossed the International Dateline. That trip began his wanderlust.
His lifelong dream was to ride his motorcycle across the country. With the support of his wife and joined by his friend, Loren, he drove across America from the east to the west coasts stopping to see the sights, sleeping in the great outdoors, finding new friends, and seeing family and old friends along the way.
He continued to work after retirement at Fed-ex. As an organ donor, he was able to continue to help others even in death.
Married to his true love, Becky, for over half his life, they made memories and had many adventures of their own. Together they inspired six children—his oldest daughter, Kelly and her sons Matthew and Hunter; his daughter, Jessica and her children Taylor and Vince; his daughter, Melissa, her husband Royce and their sons Dylan and Clay; his loving and devoted son Brandon; his adopted son Josh; and his adopted granddaughter Kayla. He will be missed by his little sister Eileen, her husband John and their daughter Jenna; his big sister Wanda, her husband Richard and their sons Chris and Duane; and his little brother Larry. He is proceeded in death by his big brother Carl, but missed by his wife Bonnie and their sons Van and Charles.
A celebration of life was held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the family home in Lumber Bridge.
