Joseph "Buffalo Joe" Kozur, USAF Ret. of Raeford died Friday, May 10, 2019 at age 74 in his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania on January 22, 1945. He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Anna Kozur, sister, Kathleen Diviney, and brother, Thomas Kozur.
He served 23 years in the U.S. Air Force and traveled with his family to many countries. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked with the Civil Service for 20 years. When he was riding his Harley across the country, he always said, "Don't know where I am but I'm not lost. Just enjoying life."
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Janice Kozur; daughters, Christine Hall and husband Gray of Ft. Mill, South Carolina, and Coleen Kozur of Raeford; a son, Joseph Kozur Jr. and wife Rhenda of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Alex Davis (Sarah) of Fredericksburg Virginia, Adam Davis of Fredericksburg, Vallery Morgan (Joshua) of China Grove, and Lauren Kozur of Fayetteville; three sisters, Anna Marie Jones of Pueblo, Colorado, Mary Ann Kozur of Leheigh Acres, Florida, and Madelyn Hutchins of Paris, Tennessee.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2019 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford.
A graveside service will be held noon, Friday May 17, 2019 at Sandhills State Veteran's Cemetery with full military honors.
