Elizabeth "Betty" Robinson Davis Herring MacDonald, 91, of Scotia Village in Laurinburg, died Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
She was born on December 19, 1929 in Greensboro to the late Joseph Speed Davis and Frances Willard Robinson. She was a 1951 Suma Cum Laude graduate from Greensboro College and became a distinguished high school teacher of English and Chemistry serving in Dunn, Pittsboro and Fayetteville school systems. She was voted as Student's "Most Admired Teacher" in 1972, and Teacher of the Year in 1978, and retired after 27 years of faithful service. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and teacher.
Preceding her in death was her husband Judge D.B. Herring and a son Joseph Davis Herring.
She is survived by her husband Milton Lauchlin "Locke" MacDonald of Laurinburg; sons, Bobby Herring (Ann) of Hamstead, and Jimmy Herring (Carolyn) of Buford, Georgia, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
