She was born on July 1, 1931 and was preceded in death by her parents, John Dockery and Maggie Lendner Monroe Covington, brother Hubert L. Covington and sister, Margaret Ann Evans. She was a lifetime member of the Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church where she served as the Little Church Sunday School superintendent, officer in various roles in Presbyterian Women and sang in the Chancel and Community Choirs. On April 13, 2003 she was the recipient of the Honorary Presbyterian Women Life Membership, recognizing her many years of service for her Lord and Savior and His church. She enjoyed being a member of the Raeford Garden Club.
She is survived by her children, James (Jimmy) Neil Maxwell Jr., (Marvin Lynne), Sally Lynne Maxwell Ivey (Roger), Mary Monroe Maxwell Barnett (Jeremy) and two grandchildren, Shannon Leslie Maxwell and Sarah Morgan Ivey.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 28, at Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church from 1– 1:45 p.m. in the Little Church Building followed by the worship service at 2 in the church sanctuary with committal in the church cemetery.Officiating the service will be Rev. Dr. Eugen Bach and Rev. Dr. David Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 520, Lumber Bridge, NC.
