He was born in Hoke County on April 23, 1928 to the late James Lytch Warner and Ruth Matheson Warner. He was a member of the Raeford United Methodist Church, served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948, and was a lifelong farmer in Hoke County.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Williamson, and granddaughter, Cody Nicole Warner.
He is survived by his children, James (Bubba) L. Warner and his wife, Katharine of Raeford, Richard Warner and Stephanie of Red Springs, and Victoria (Vicki) W. Pannell and her husband, Dan of Vass; two grandchildren, Jamie D. Warner of Raeford and Heath Warner of Red Springs; three great-grandchildren; and longtime companion, Mildred Maxwell.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Raeford Cemetery with Pastor Joshua Eom officiating.
