William J. Callahan of Moultrie, Georgia died Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center at age 76.
He was born June 15, 1946 in Raeford to the late Will Jr. Callahan and Catherine Locklear Callahan.
He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, retired from Wells Aluminum as a lab tech and was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending quality time with them. He had a passion for collecting guns, knives and restoring a 1951 Ford.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Stokes Callahan of Moultrie, Georgia; children, Jason J. Callahan and wife Cherie of Thomasville, Jody C. Perry and husband Gregory of Cape Coral, Florida, Janet L. Pineiro of Thomasville, Cissy K. Kerns and husband Vince of Gainesville, Georgia; grandchildren, Mason J. Callahan, Vincent Callahan and wife Taylor, Taylor Taylor and husband Zach, Victoria Callahan, Alisha Owens, J. Michael Owens, Amrik Pineiro, Averi Pineiro; great-grandchildren, Valen Callahan, Jolie Callahan, Abigail Callahan, Delaney Callahan, Will Callahan, Vinn Callahan, and James Reynolds; brother, Russell Locklear and wife Nevelyn of Raeford; sister, Jeanette Buckner of Greensboro.
A funeral was held 2 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2022 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Julian Griner officiating. Interment followed in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
