Dixie Martin Wagers of Parkton died January 5, 2023 at the age of 67.
She was born in Madison County, Iowa on February 1, 1955 to the late Philip and Diana Martin.
She loved quilting and was part of a local quilting group called "The Blockheads". She was a wonderful grandmother and adored her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Thackeray Sr.; and her brother, Daniel Martin. She is survived by her husband, Terry Wagers; two siblings, Douglas Martin (Ginny) of Zebulon, and Deborah Martin of Zebulon; two sons, George Thackeray Jr. of Parkton and Geoffrey Thackeray (Lydia) of Parkton; a daughter, Rachel Hensley (James) of Kingstree, South Carolina; an adopted daughter, Tiffany Carlisle of Texas; and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she treated like her own children.
A visitation was held 4-5 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel. A service followed at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
