Jerry Thomas Lytle of Raeford died Thursday, July 27 2023 at Hospice House of Pinehurst, at the age of 82.
He lived in Raeford all of his life and was a member of Raeford Methodist Church.
He served in the Army between 1964 and 1970. He worked at Raeford Turkey Plant and Unilever in the past. He walked many a mile around Raeford and was a stranger to no one.
He loved going to Hardee's, visiting with people, and telling stories about his past. He was always ready to tell a joke or story. He spent his last years living at Open Arms Retirement Center. He will be missed greatly by his family, but we all know he is happy to be reunited with them in Heaven now.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland Lytle and Mattie Thomas Lytle, as well as sisters Ruth Lytle Phillips, Martha Lytle Miller, Margaret Lytle Davis, Donnie Lytle McMillan, and Mary Lytle Smith; and a brother, Grover Cleveland Lytle Jr.
He is survived by six nieces and two nephews.
A visitation was held from 3-4 p.m. Sunday, July 30 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford. The service followed at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment was in the Raeford City Cemetery.
