Betty Lou Townsend Taylor of Red Springs died December 25, 2023 at the age of 92.
She was born June 1, 1931 in Pennsylvania to the late Harold and Bessy Townsend.
She was a devout member of the Red Springs First Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling including to 48 states, all over Western Europe, and Northern Africa. She was a dedicated wife and a loving, caring, and compassionate mother, and grandmother. She was well-liked and loved and always had a smile on her face.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Taylor.
She is survived by her two children, Martha Jane Taylor and Jack Harrison Taylor; grandchildren, Megan Maag-Branham, and Aaron Harrison Taylor; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Jayne Maag-Smith, Jaylee Michelle Fulmer, and Jayjeet Fulmer.
A visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. January 6, 2024, at the Red Springs First Baptist Church. A memorial service followed at 2 p.m.
