Guy Robeson Bullock Jr.

Guy Robeson Bullock Jr., formerly of Raeford, died May 3, 2024 at his residence with his family by his side, at the age of 80.

He was born November 21, 1943 in Hoke County. He was a graduate of the Hoke County High Class of 1963. He began his career with Canal Wood, where he would become an area manager. He worked for Canal Wood for over 30 years.

In 1972 he moved to Sylvania, Georgia to purchase timber for Canal Wood. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything. He extended that love to everyone he met and insisted on feeding friends from the many cookouts he and his family hosted. He enjoyed farming, taking fishing trips to Alaska with his sons and friends.

He also liked to attend yard sales and looking at antiques. He also enjoyed going to the FFA annual pheasant hunts with his son and granddaughter, as well as socializing with many friends. In addition to working for Canal Wood he worked many years with Sylvania Auction Company. He was also co-owner with his son of Bullock's Lawn Care and a volunteer for the Cooperville Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy R. Bullock Sr. and Allene Millikin Bullock of Raeford.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jean Bullock; sons, Steven (Megan) Bullock and Andy (Chrissie) Bullock; daughter, Kim Bullock; granddaughters Emilie Bullock, Brooklyn Bullock, Chasity Bullock, and Mellie Kitchens; a sister, Magina Bullock; and a furry rescue pet, Jake.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 in the chapel of Joiner Anderson Screven with Rev. Steve Purnell officiating. The family will receive visitors for an hour prior to the service. The family requests everyone to dress casually for the service. Interment will follow the service in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
