Burlie Dawson Locklear II

Burlie Dawson Locklear III, affectionately known as Pudie and Stump, died September 13, 2024, at Scotland Memorial Hospital, at the age of 18.

He was born July 18, 2006 in Moore County to Burlie Dawson Locklear II and Heather Renee Martin.

In life, we meet all types of people, but we can say that he was truly one of a kind. He was a jokester and a spirit lifter. No matter how you felt, he could make you laugh and smile. He loved his family and friends and loved them with everything he had, especially his girlfriend Jaylen.

Whether you saw him helping cook bloomin' onions or waiting your table at Waffle House he had that infectious smile. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing basketball and playing his video game.

He was a recent graduate of the Hoke County High School Class of 2024. He had hopes eventually following in the family line of doing electrical work and wanted to own an electrical company one day just like his Papa. Our hearts are shattered but our love and memories will never be broken and neither will the love that he left behind.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Burlie Dawson Locklear Sr., Darlene Locklear, and Mr. Donald Martin.

He is survived by the love of his life: Jaylen Madden who he affectionately referred to as "Bae"; his parents: Burlie Dawson Locklear II of Red Springs and Heather Renee Martin of Red Springs; his sister: Kierra Martin of Virgina; his brother: Aaron Locklear of Red Springs; his paternal aunts and uncles who all helped raise him: Daniel Locklear of Red Springs, Elizabeth Locklear of Red Springs, Megan Locklear (James Winston) of Red Springs, Simeon Jones (Raven) of Red Springs, and Adrian Kyle Locklear of Shannon; maternal aunts: Pamela Phillips and Cynthia Southern, both of Virginia; special nieces and nephews: Willow, Winnie Jo, Wriley, Wremi, Joseph, and Alaya; his maternal grandmother: Brenda Martin of Virginia; special friends: AJ Corbit and Brandon Madden and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly.
