Carra Lillie Lindsay of Raeford died Friday, September 26, 2014 at FirstHealth Hoke Campus in Raeford at the age of 93.
She was born in Bladen County on October 1, 1920 to the late Eddie Gaston Brisson and Amanda Reta Monroe Brisson. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Fairley Lindsay, her daughter, Barbara Ann Lindsay, and her grandson, Richard Lindsay. She was a lifetime member of Galatia Presbyterian Church. She spent her life loving her family as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great-grandmother. She retired from the Cumberland County School System.
She is survived by two sons, Donald C. Lindsay and his wife, Connie of Raeford, and Alex Lindsay and his wife, Heidi of Raeford; her daughter, Susan Lindsay Slocum of Greensboro; 8eight grandchildren, Tommy, Michael, Barbara, Matthew, Jennifer, Julie, Pam, and Amanda; 13 great-grandchildren, Davey, Jessica, Amy, Jared, Sarah, Natalie, Colin, Caitlin, Lindsay, James, Brooke, Sawyer, and Charley; and one great-great-granddaughter, Payton.
The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2014 in the church parlor of Galatia Presbyterian Church, 8800 Galatia Church Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. at Galatia Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Shuford White officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her son James A. Cashwell of Grays Creek; two daughters, Debbie C. Jackson of Wilmington and Michelle R. Kelley of St. Pauls; two grandchildren Dennis L. Lendward Simpson, 89, of 209 N. Bethel Road, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2014.

Neill B. Sinclair Jr.
Neill Blue Sinclair, Jr. died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014—one day before his 84th birthday— at The Oaks of Mayview in Raleigh.
Mr. Sinclair was born in Fayetteville on Sept. 24, 1930, to Neill Blue Sinclair and Jessie Currie McPhaul Sinclair. Raised in Raeford, North Carolina, he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After serving in the U.S. Army, he embarked on a long career with the North Carolina Milk Commission.
In 1959, he married the former Mary Alice Melvin in Raleigh, where they made their home and raised their family. She predeceased him in 2000.

He is also survived by his brothers: James Archibald Sinclair and John Thomas Sinclair; a sister, Jane Sinclair Grimm; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Bismark Pearson Ellis of Baltimore, Maryland, formerly of Hoke County, died September 17, 2014 at the age of 67.
He was born in Hoke County on June 17, 1947. He was a self-employed brick mason. He also served in the US Army.

Ronald Wayne "Brother" Johnson of Raeford died Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in his home at the age of 59.
He was born in Scotland County on July 6, 1955. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald Johnson. He attended Shiloh Presbyterian Church and was the owner and operator of Johnson's Radiator Repair. He enjoyed fishing, and sharing his special barbeque sauce with others. He also enjoyed riding four-wheelers with his dog, Sam, and along with his friends and family. He cherished his '63 Chevrolet Impala.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Harriett C. Johnson of Raeford; his parents Archie and H. Beulah Johnson of Raeford; his sister, Martha Kelly (Edward) of Little River, South Carolina; his nephew, Justin Price (Samantha) of Huntersville; his niece, Lynn McClish (Jeff) of Orlando, Florida and their son, Spencer; his mother-in-law Betty Burns Currie of Raeford; and a host of close relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 20 6-8 p.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home-Raeford.
