Robert Dewayne Green Jr.

Robert Dewayne Green Jr. died on February 23, 2023 in his home at the age of 50.

He was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey on July 27, 1972 to Robert Dewayne Green Sr., and the late Barbara Walls Jolly.

He loved his two sons and his dogs. He was an excellent painter. Though he was quite troublesome, sometimes, he will be missed very much.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Green.

He is survived by his sons, Robert Dewayne Green III, and Tyler Mason Green; his father, Robert Dewayne Green Sr., and his wife Barbara; brother, Phil Green; sister, Vickie Gribble; his siblings, Danielle Quinn, Bruce Quinn, and Eric Green; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Alexander Bell Hall

Alexander Bell Hall of Red Springs died Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the age of 14.

He was born in Robeson County on December 26, 2008.

He was a miracle to our family who brought love, peace, joy, and happiness to our life.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Faye Hall.

He is survived by his father, Earl Hall Sr.; his siblings, Gracie Caulder, Robert Caulder, Tawana Fields, Alan Fields, Jonathon Fields (Sandra), Sharon Morales, Earl Hall, Jr. (Kris), Tina Locklear (Trent), Jerry Oxendine (Penda), Jonathan Hall (Kiley), Percell Henderson (Sarah); nieces and nephews, Katana Locklear (Spencer), Christopher Fields (Katelynn), Cheyann Fields, Tierra, Tana, Trinity, Travis, Toby, Tristan, Takobi, Tianna, all Locklears, Dakota Henderson, Carson Henderson, J.C Fields, Kirston Fields, Keyara Fields, Calista Arboleda, Marco Arboleda, Estevan Arboleda, Jewel Gillespie, and India Terry; his caregiver, Brenda Robinson, and a host of other relatives that loved him very much.

A visitation will be held 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Mt. Elim Baptist Church, 921 Wilson Rd, Red Springs, N.C. 28377. Services will follow from 2-4 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Elim Cemetery.

Gladys Lucas

Gladys Ray Locklear Lucas Aberdeen died at Central Harnett Hospital on Friday, February 17 at the age of 67.
Born at home on April 4, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Dorothy Bullard Locklear.  
She joined the Job Corps in her teens and served with them for many years. Her service brought her to Oklahoma and California before returning home to take care of her ailing mother. She had been a longtime member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Aberdeen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al Lucas; brother, Sylvester Locklear; and sister, Nellie Zavala.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Locklear. She was the sister of  Bonnie Brown, Gloria Jacobs, John Locklear, Roberta "Flossy" Locklear and Duck Locklear. 
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, February 22 at 2 p.m. at the Boles Funeral Home, 425 W. Pennsylvania Ave. Southern Pines. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1-2 p.m.

Stephen Franklin Lovett

Stephen Franklin Lovett of Greenville, formerly of Lumberton, died Monday, February 13, 2023 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville at the age of 50. 

He was born in Robeson County on January 23, 1973. 

Known as Coach Love, he served as a physical education teacher, baseball coach and football coach from 1999-2019 before transferring to his current position as football coach at J.H. Rose High School in Greenville. He formerly coached in Hoke County.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William "Bill" Judson Lovett and Jennie Enzor Lovett; his maternal grandparents, Bunyan Ford Howell, Sr. and Flora Mae Edge Howell; his uncles: Clyde Lovett (Louise), Buddy Howell, Harold Howell, and Rev. Charles Howell; and his cousin, Tonya Britt Howell.

He is survived by his parents, Franklin and Sara Howell Lovett of Lumberton; his aunts and uncles: Jack Lovett, Marilyn Howell, Emily Howell, Myra Howell and Deborah Sealey (Kenneth), all of Lumberton, and Jane Norris (Lee) of Illinois; and many cousins, friends and extended family members.

A time of visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at Ten Mile Baptist Church, 5176 Barker Ten Mile Road in Lumberton. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. with Gene Jackson and Rev. David McClellan officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
