Martin Scarboro of Raeford died, Monday, May 28, 2012 in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 76.
He was born in Hoke County on February 26, 1936 to the late Martin Scarboro, Sr. and Allie Mae Davis.
Survivors are his wife, Flora M. Scarboro; two sons, Terry Scarboro and his wife Vicky of Raeford, and Jeff Scarboro of Raeford; a daughter, Donna S. Chavis and her husband Dr. P. Ray Chavis of Wagram; three grandchildren, Heather Scarboro of Laurinburg, and Kristen and Coby Chavis both of Wagram.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave, Raeford, NC 28376.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 31 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tex Deaton officiating.
Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.

Eula P. Thornberg
Eula Pearl Thornberg of Raeford died, Monday, May 28, 2012 in her home at the age of 88.
She was born in Johnston County on November 30, 1923 to the late Henry W. Johnson and Annie Massengill Johnson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Thornberg.
She was a member of the Shiloh Presbyterian Church. In 1947 she graduated the North Carolina Training School for Nursing at McCain and retired in 1987 with the North Carolina Department of Correction at McCain.
Survivors are two sons, Alan J. Thornberg and his wife, and Linda of Pinebluff, Harry Lee Thornberg of Raeford; a daughter, Patricia T. Stokes and her husband, Leonard of Rockingham; a brother George Johnson of Benson; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave, Raeford.

She was born in Cumberland County on July 17, 1950 to Monnie M. and Ethel Louise Hales Sanders. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Her mother, Ethel Louise Hales Sanders preceded her in death.

Audrian Richard Chambers, 81, of Pinebluff, died Saturday, May 26, 2012 in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Mr. Chambers was born in Rockingham County to the late Lester Richard Chambers and Minnie Bet Smith Chambers. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church and a farmer in Hoke County for many years.
The graveside service was held Monday, May 28 at 11 a.m. at Community United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alton Burrows officiating.
Survivors are: son, Richard Cary Chambers and his wife Katy of Fredericksburg, Virginia; daughter, Audrey Chambers of Aberdeen; brother, Melvin Chambers of Raeford; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Leroy H. Bullard
Leroy Henderson (Henry) Bullard passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord Jesus, surrounded by his family at his beloved home place on Sunday, May 27, 2012. He recently celebrated his 90th birthday.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at noon on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Dr. David Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Sunday School Building.
A veteran of World War II (87th Infantry Division) and a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge, he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. He was dedicated to his country and all it stands for. His family, friends, and church were the most important things in his life. His love of home and nature brought him endless hours of pleasure.
He is lovingly remembered by his sweetheart and wife of 71 years, Eliza Walters Bullard, and his three beloved daughters and their husbands who were like sons to him, Betty and Fred Tyner, Linda and Maurice Jennings, and Henrietta and John Meaney.
He was a dear grandfather and "Pa" to Beth Tyner Jones, Leslie Tyner, Cooper Fowler, Sinclair Fowler McLean, John Paul Meaney and Thomas Meaney. He was blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Claire and Nate Jones, Cooper, Alex, and Pearce Fowler, Eliza Jane, Dickson, and Malcolm McLean,and Anabel Meaney.

Deborah Lynn Edwards Campbell of 110 Ten Acres Trail, died in her home on May 23, 2012 at the age of 45.
She was born in Cumberland County on March 16, 1967 to the late Everett Lee Edwards and Betty James Edwards.
Survivors are two brothers, James E. Edwards and his wife Nannette of Lillington, and Steven O. Edwards of Spring Lake; a sister, Teresa E. James Soles
James "Jimmy" Soles of Raeford died in his home on May 10, 2012 at the age of 52.
He was born in Moore County on October 14, 1959 and is preceded in death by his father, Joe Douglas Soles, and stepfather, Dr. Riley Jordan. Her served in the US Air Force and was employed with the US Army Corp of Engineers at the time of his death.
Survivors include a son, Christopher James Soles of Raeford; his mother, Lyda W. Jordan of Southern Pines; a sister, Karen Larsen and her husband Dr. Eric Larsen of West End; his companion, Cathy James of Raeford; and two nephews, Jason Kennedy and Joey Kennedy, both of Wilmington.
A memorial service will held at 2 pm.m. at the Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel, on Monday, May 14, 2012 with Jere Lee McClendon officiating.

Priscilla F. Baker
Priscilla Folk Baker of 540 Goose Pond Road, died Monday, May 7 at the age of 88.
She was born in Robeson County on May 12, 1923 and is preceded in death by her mother, Anna Oxendine. She was a member of Mt. Elim Baptist Church in Red Springs.
Survivors include two daughters, Audrey B. Hall and her husband James of Red Springs and Freida Daniel of Lumber Bridge; two sons, Neal A. Baker of Red Springs and Bryan Locklear and his wife Wanda of Red Springs; her sister Rosa Bell Woods of Red Springs; two brothers, Henry Woods and Lawrence Woods Jr. both of Raeford; several grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-granchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend Vera Parish.
Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday May 9 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Red Springs.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday May 10 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel in Red Springs, Pastor Oscar Henderson and Pastor Chris Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Hall Family Cemetery.
