Sara G. Harris

Sara Gibson Harris, 36 of Raeford, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012.
Survivors are: her husband, Shane; her parents, Larry and Alice Gibson; a son, Justin Gibson; a daughter, Chloe Harris; a brother Joseph Gibson and wife Kimberly; three sisters, Trina Lambert, Shonda Graham Bollinger and Donna Graham Estrada; maternal grandmother, Margaret Shortt; paternal grandmother, Carole Bennett; three nieces; three nephews; aunts, uncles and many, many beloved friends.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at 4 p.m. in Freedom Biker Church, 455 Rockhill Road.

Sgt. Corey J. Flowers

Sgt. Corey Jamel Flowers, 24, formally of Raeford, died Nov. 19, 2012 in Virginia.
Survivors are: wife; Pauletta; parents, Richard & Jacqueline; brother, Patrick; and grandmother, Mamie Whatley.
The funeral will be held Thurs. Nov. 29 at noon in Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Sandhills Veteran Cemetery in Spring Lake. Visitation will be Wed. Nov. 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Buie Funeral Home.

Darrick McNeill

Darrick McNeill, 41, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012.
Survivors are: mother, Mattie; brothers, Tony & Adre; sisters, Shelia, and Gwendolyn McPhaul.
The funeral will be held Wed. Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. in Buie Funeral Home Chapel.
Viewing today, Nov. 27 from noon to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sonja Cobb

Sonja Cobb, 46, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, Nov. 20.
She is survived by her husband Bruce Cobb; a son, Larante Cunningham; five daughters, Sonya Douglas and her husband Jerry, Krystle Butler, Quanisha Jameson and her husband Jamie, Bryisha Cobb and Shanda Wilson; her mother Geraldine Daniels; her father James Daniels Sr.; a brother, James Daniels Jr.; and three grandchildren.
The funeral was held Saturday, Nov. 24 at J.W. Turlington School. Burial was in McLaughlin Family Cemetery.

Annie L. Cunningham

Annie Lucille Cunningham, 88, of 711 Jackson St., died recently.
Survivors are: sons, James, Bobby, Milton, Tony and Aundrey; daughters, Linda Dockery, Dorothy McKoy, Shirley Fergison, Patricia McRae and Willie Tart; and 26 grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sun. Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. in Freedom Chapel AME Zion Church. Burial was in church cemetery.

Sonja Cobb

Sonja Cobb, 46, of 6805 Willowbrook Drive, Fayetteville, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012.
Survivors are: husband, Bruce; daughters, Sonya Douglas, Krystle Butler, Quanisha Jameson, Shanda Wilson and Bryisha; and son, Larante Cunningham; and parents.
The funeral was held Sat. Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. in J.W. Turlington School in Raeford. Burial was in McLaughlin family cemetery in Raeford.

David M. Smith

David M. Smith of Raleigh, formerly of Fayettevillle, died Friday November 23, 2012 in Wake Med Hospital at the age of 52.
He was born in Heidelberg, Germany to Roscoe A. and Mary Taylor Smith. He was a Machinist Engineer with the Accurate Machine Corp.
Survivors include a son, Sean Smith of Raleigh; a daughter: Shannon Eddings of Sanford, Florida; his mother, Mary Smith of Fayetteville; two brothers, Rocky Smith of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Ricky Smith (Ellen) of Covington, Georgia; two sisters, Debbie Gardner (Wayne) of Raeford and Donna Baker (Daren) of Tampa, Florida; and two grandchildren, Michael David Eddings of St. Augustine, Florida and Mikayla Rose of Sanford, Florida.
A graveside service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 28 in the Raeford Cemetery with Chaplain John Nickalson officiating.

Sidney Moore

Sidney Moore, formerly of Raeford, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 in his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia at the age of 75.
He was born in Pender County on August 11, 1937 to the late Sindney Roderick Moore Sr. and Sallie Carroll Moore. He was a member of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and the Raeford Masonic Lodge #306.
Survivors his wife Yolanda Moore of Virginia Beach; sons, Carlos Moore and his wife Bonnie of Alvarado, Texas, Richard Moore of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Patricia "Patty" M. Santiago and her husband Robert of Virginia Beach, Raquel M. Swensen of Pinebluff, Jennifer Gibson Watkins and her husband Rick of Crossville, Tennessee; his brother, Graham Moore and his wife Karen of Florence, South Carolina; and a sister Carroll Coley and her husband Walter of Charlotte.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel, 131 Harris Ave, Raeford, NC 28376. Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.

Tony Horne

Tony Horne of Raeford died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care at the age of 53.
He was born in Richmond County, Georgia on August 4, 1959. He was preceded in death by his father, David Horne.
Survivors include his wife, Terri Horne of Raeford; two daughters, Cassidy H. Johnson of Raeford, and Samantha Horne of Greenville; two sons, Chris Horne of Asheville, and Caleb Horne of Raeford; his mother, Eva Horne of Raeford; two brothers, Steve Horne and his wife Jeannie of Raeford, and David Horne and his wife Pamela of Franklinton; a sister, Cynthia Wellington of Raeford; and three grandchildren, Charlie Johnson, Caley Johnson, Cameron Reynolds.
Visitation will be6-8 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave, Raeford, NC.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Burns officiating. Burial will be in the Pittman Family Cemetery at Pittman Grove Baptist Church.

Earlene Jacobs

Earlene Jacobs of Raeford died Thursday, November 22, 2012 in her home at the age of 73.
She was born in Scotland County on June 2, 1939 to the late Earl Locklear and Lessie Revels Locklear. She was an active member of the Mt. Elim Baptist Church where she served as President of the Women's Missionary Union. Before Mrs. Jacobs retired, she worked as a billing clerk with the House of Raeford. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Jimmie Jacobs of the home; her daughters, Lynette Dial and her husband Clarence of Raeford, Paulette Moore and husband James of Scotland County, Wandalene Locklear and her husband, Ricky of Kempner, Texas; her son, Jimmie Earl Jacobs of Red Springs; her brothers, James C. Locklear and his wife Roma, Yorktown, Virginia, David Locklear and his wife Bernice of Maxton, Earl Franklin Locklear of Albemarle; her sisters, Lessie Mae Sanchez of Tampa, Florida, Bessie Cook and her husband, J.R. of Scottsville, Virginia, Nancy Ratliff of Raeford; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 220 E. 4th Ave, Red Springs, NC 28377.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Mt. Elim Baptist Church, 921 Wilson Road, Red Springs, with Pastor Chris Webb, Pastor Tony Brewington, and Pastor Timothy Locklear officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Elim Baptist Church Cemetery following the service.

Mary B. Scheel

Mary Brinson Scheel, 78, of Raeford, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012.
Survivors are: husband, George; daughter, Cheryl Scott; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Tues. Nov 20 at 2 p.m. in Camp Ground United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. Burial will be in church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church.

Glendia H. Davis

Glendia H. Davis of Raeford died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 65.
She was born in Robeson County on December 21, 1946 to Ozell Hester and Margaret Kathleen Kinlaw. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Blake. She was a member of the Pittman Grove Baptist Church and was a volunteer at Open Arms Retirement Home for over 20 years.
Survivors include her husband, Ras E. Davis, Sr. of Raeford; her son, Ras E. Davis Jr. and his wife Tommalee of Raeford; her brothers, Tony Hester of Raeford, and Douglas Hester of Baltimore, Maryland; her sister, Cynthia Drake and her husband, Stephen of Linden; her granddaughter, Crystal Locklear of Maxton; four nieces; and fpur nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2012 at Pittman Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. William Beasley officiating
Visitation will be after the service at the gravesite.

Elder Michael Blackston, 59, of Raeford, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012.
Survivors are: children, Shashanah Cole, Baruch Shamberger, Isaiah and Michael; siblings, Edward, Bobby, Mary Faison; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Sun. Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. Sunday, Church of God Temple Bethel/Church of God & Saints of Christ, Suffolk, Va. Burial, Belleville Cemetery, Suffolk, Va. Viewing will be held Thurs. Nov. 15 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Simon Funeral Home, Southern Pines. Visitation will be held at 175 Louro Lane, Aberdeen.

Hester S. Boyles

Hester Irene S. Boyles of 4365 N. Shannon Road died Saturday, November 10, 2012 in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 93.
She was born in Stokes County, North Carolina to the late Windfield and Sarah Jones Setliff. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold A. Boyles, and three brothers and three sisters. She was a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church where she received the Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership in 2002. She enjoyed serving her family and community through baking desserts and sharing her gifts with others.
Survivors include two daughters, Carole Elkins (Cliff) of Lexington, South Carolina , Jane McGugan (Danny) of Shannon; two sons, Johnny Boyles of Fayetteville, and Michael Boyles (Joyce) of Apex; a sister, Verna Lea Allen of King; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Interment will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 at Raeford Cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends between 9:30 and 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Antioch Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall,
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Dr. David Hudson and CRE Herman T. Autry officiating.

Joseph W. Davis

Joseph William Davis of 852 North Parker Church Road died Thursday, November 08, 2012 in his home at the age of 38 after suffering a brain tumor.
He was born in Orange County, California on June 12, 1974 to Brian Davis and Susan Marie Haskins. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He had a love for wood working, horticulture, and spending time with his children.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie M. Davis of Raeford; sons, Jo Jo (Joseph) W. Davis, II, Jonathan G. Davis, Justin M. Davis all of Raeford; daughters Lindsey N. Davis of Tilton, New Hampshire, and Julie-Marie F. Davis of Raeford; his father, Brian G. Davis of Sanbornton, New Hampshire; his mother, Susan M. Davis of Anaheim, California; his paternal grandmother, Miriam Davis of New Hampton, New Hampshire; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Haskins of Anaheim, California; and a sister, Jennifer Davis-Fogarty of Northfield, New Hampshire.
