Susan Ann McKellar, 67, died April 15, 2022, after a lengthy illness.
Born January 9, 1955, in Lumberton, she was the daughter of the late William Ernest (1988) and Marie Grimsley (2016) McKellar. Grandparents were James Lewis McKellar and Lillian McKellar Edens, Jeter and Madge Turner Grimsley.
She was a lifelong resident of Red Springs until 2014 when illness confined her to Autumn Care in Raeford. She was a member of Red Springs Baptist Church.
A 1973 graduate of Red Springs High School, she continued her education at Fayetteville State University graduating in 1982 with a B.S. in Business & Economics. She was employed by BB&T until her illness.
She was a gifted artist who loved drawing and painting. She loved crafting, music, reading and cooking. She had a tender heart and sweet spirit. She had a great love for animals, especially cats. She loved spending time with her family, especially at the beach.
She was also predeceased by her brother, Samuel Ernest McKellar l(2011.)
She is survived by one nephew, (Wm.) Christopher McKellar and wife, Lindsay, two great-nieces and one great-nephew. all of Birmingham, Alabama one uncle, Henry McKellar of Ketchikanj, Alaska and several cousins including Addie Dunahoe of Red Springs. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Kathy Jackson McKellar of Columbia, South Carolina.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Alloway Cemetery in Red Springs at a later date.

Cameron "Cam" Brown
Cameron Lee "Cam" Brown died April 13, 2022, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. He was 63.
Although born in Bluefield, West Virginia, his roots were always in Raeford. Upon graduation from N.C. State University, he returned home and began work with the family businesses.
He was a kind and gentle person with a quick wit and smile. He loved his family, friends, and being a farmer in Hoke County. The sun on his shoulders, the view of a new crop sprouting, and a good fall harvest brought him great joy.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cathy Brown of Raeford; a sister, Evelyn Fram and husband Evan of Flagstaff, Arizona; a brother, Vernon "Butch" Brown and wife Mary Anne of Verona; mother-in-law Carole Angle of Southern Pines; brother-in-law Gregory Angle and wife Kathy of Lenoir; a niece, Holly Brown of Tallahassee, Florida; and nephews Adam Brown of Raleigh, Eric Fram of Los Angeles, California, and Zachary Angle of Courtland, Ohio.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at the Raeford Cemetery, with the Rev. Joshua Eom officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.

Heather Laurin McClendon, 32 of Raeford passed away peacefully surrounded by family at First Health Moore Reginal Hospital on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
She is survived by her husband, Charles McClendon of Raeford, Daughters Harley, Kylie, Madi, and son Charlie; her mother and father Harold and Elaine Thompson of Pinehurst and sister Tiffani Sheppard of West End and twin sister Alyssa Keith of Whispering Pines.
For those that knew Heather, she was one of the kindest people you will have ever met. She loved to do things for others, loved her family, riding motorcycles with her husband, going to the flea market with her dad, animal lover, and cooking for everyone. She loved spending time with her family and always put others first. To know her was to see true compassion and thoughtfulness; she will be dearly missed.

Mary Ann Brewer of Lumber Bridg died Friday, April 1, 2022, at age 65.
She was born in Elizabethtown on February 2, 1957 to Edna Beaney and the "late'" Marion Bowen, and was preceded in death by her infant sister Carol Denise Bowen.
She had a servant's heart and cared deeply for her family. Her cooking was the centerpiece at family dinners. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and in all her years of working outside the home she was loved by her employers and customers. Her most recent job at "The H.E.L.P Store" brought her a great deal of accomplishment in the community that she lived in because she was a big part of their outreach programs.
She is survived by her husband Lloyd Brewer of the home; daughter, Debra Brown (Lewis Brown) of Hope Mills; son, Jeffery Brewer (Heather Brewer) of Louisburg; mother, Edna Beaney of Hope Mills; brother,Dennis Bowen (Veronica Bowen) of Raeford; five grandchildren, Dustin Powell (Shandi Powell), Landon Brewer, Thomas Brown, Logan Brewer, and Clara "Grace" Brewer; and a great-grandchild, Jaxon Powell.

Wayne Fulton Livingston of Lumber Bridge died Monday, March 28, 2022 at age 66.
He was born in Cumberland County on February 17, 1956 to the late Archie Howard Livingston and Betty Jean Smith Livingston. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Livingston. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was employed with Black & Decker in Fayetteville.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Honeycutt Livingston of Parkton; three children, Heather Pirro of Florida, Gary Livingston and his wife Samantha of Hope Mills, and Crystal Storkamp of Parkton; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Tammy L. Jeffrey (Jeff) Ronald Gaines of Aberdeen (Hoke County) died Saturday, March 26, 2022, at age 47.
He was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 19, 1974, to the late Ernest Paul Gaines and Carol Pamela Fretwell Gaines.

Faye Jordan
Faye Baker Jordan died at her home on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at age 95.
Shewas born in Cumberland County on April 4, 1926, to the late Walter Presley Baker and Faye Theresa Oliver Baker. She was preceded in death by her son, Walter "Wally" Baker Jordan, and her sister, Phyllis Baker McNeill. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Raeford. She graduated from Hoke County High School and Meredith College, and obtained a master's degree in Counseling from East Carolina University. She was a guidance counselor for the Hoke County School System for 20 years. She was a loving and devoted mother and will be remembered for her generosity and kindness.
She is survived by three sons, Mike Jordan and his wife Beth of Georgetown, South Carolina, Bob Jordan and his wife Amy of Cary, and John Jordan and his wife Polly of Raeford; three daughters, Beth Foster and her husband Bill of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Kim Williamson and her husband Don of Ocean Isle Beach, and Suzanne McGougan and her husband Joe of Elgin, South Carolina; 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Shewas born in Cumberland County on April 4, 1926, to the late Walter Presley Baker and Faye Theresa Oliver Baker. She was preceded in death by her son, Walter "Wally" Baker Jordan, and her sister, Phyllis Baker McNeill. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Raeford. She graduated from Hoke County High School and Meredith College, and obtained a master's degree in Counseling from East Carolina University. She was a guidance counselor for the Hoke County School System for 20 years. She was a loving and devoted mother and will be remembered for her generosity and kindness.
She is survived by three sons, Mike Jordan and his wife Beth of Georgetown, South Carolina, Bob Jordan and his wife Amy of Cary, and John Jordan and his wife Polly of Raeford; three daughters, Beth Foster and her husband Bill of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Kim Williamson and her husband Don of Ocean Isle Beach, and Suzanne McGougan and her husband Joe of Elgin, South Carolina; 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 - 11:25 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Raeford Presbyterian Church, John C. Ropp Fellowship Hall.

Gilbert Hoffmann
Gilbert Edwin Hoffmann of Raeford died Monday, March 21, 2022, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital at age 87.
He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on April 13, 1934 to the late Karl George Hoffmann Sr. and Grace Haddock Hoffmann.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was an active member of the Community United Methodist Church where he loved bringing others to Christ. He was employed with Chevron until he retired and took over the family farm in Raeford. He enjoyed playing card games every week with his friends. He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife for over 50 years Marilyn Lewis Hoffmann, his son Gilbert Steven (Steve) Hoffmann, his brother Karl George Hoffmann Jr, and his companion Geraldine Black.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela H. Henry, and her husband Terry of Rudy, Arkansas; a daughter-in-law, Jeanine Hoffmann of Louisville, Kentucky; seven grandchildren,

Jimmie Conoly
Jimmie Neil Conoly of Pinehurst, formerly of Raeford, died Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst at age 88.
He was born in Hoke County on May 30, 1933 to the late John Ed Conoly and Mable Lillian Chason Conoly. He retired from the US Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his sons, John Ed Conoly and Gary N. Conoly, a daughter Leah Conoly, two grandchildren, Garrett Conoly and Evan Russell, his siblings, and Edwin Conoly, Hazel Davis, Sarah Tucker, and Alene Ketchel.

Mary Davis
Mary Lee Howk Davis of Raeford died Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham at age 74.
She was born in Prince Edward County, Virginia on July 19, 1947, to the late Howard Howk and Minnie Campbell Howk. She was employed with Burlington Industries and Autumn Care of Raeford before she retired.
She is survied by her husband David A. Davis of Raeford; two daughters, Vicky Garner (James) of Raeford, and Evelyn Marie Wade (Larry) of Weatherford, Texas; a granddaughter, Megan Stone of Raeford; and a brother, Charles Howk of Hope Mills.
A private memorial service will be held later.

Mildred B. Baker, 87, of Raeford died Monday, February 28, 2022. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at New Greater Solid Rock Church, Raeford. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing and visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at Purcell Funeral Home, Southern Pines.
