Ronald Eugene Hinson, age 71, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 in his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Robeson County on March 4, 1941 to the late Jack Hinson and Louise Melton Hinson. He attended Emmanuel Holiness Church in Red Springs and was involved with the Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Melissa and Melinda Hinson.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara S. Hinson of Wagram; a son, John Hinson and wife Skye of Poquoson, Virginia; three daughters, Rhonda Bird and husband Harry of Charleston, South Carolina, Constance "Connie" Fulp of Clemmons, and Debra Hinson of Columbus, Georgia; two brothers, Richard Hinson and wife Joyce of St. Pauls, and Larry Hinson and wife, Betty of Sanford; two sisters, Jackie Billings and husband Jeff of Winston-Salem, and Susan Jarman and husband Ronald of Parkton; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5190 Fayetteville Road, Lumberton with Pastor Larry Hinson officiating with full military honors. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
