Elsie Henderson Jacobs, 77, of Red Springs, died June 9, 2018.
She was born to Ada and Newberry Locklear on December 3, 1940.
Her passion and love for God was always at the forefront of her life. She never sought notoriety for herself. She was one of the most humble people about her gifting. The way she loved was amazing; everyone always felt like her favorite because she made them feel that way. She was a true servant of God. She did what she did out of the goodness of her heart, never expecting anything in return.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Angela Jacobs; three brothers, Alford Henderson, Warner "Tom" Henderson, and Willie "Farbie" Locklear; and two sisters, Annie Bell Locklear and Cenora Henderson.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Willie Jacobs of the home; two daughters, Linda and Tim Beaman, and Charlene and Anthony Locklear; a son, Will and Shelli Jacobs; five grandchildren, Heather and Austin Maynor, Ashley and Joshua Barton, Ashton Locklear, Garret Locklear and Austin McPhail; a step-grandson, Clint Beaman; two great-granddaughters, Nylah Grace and Catilaya Jade; a great-grandson on the way; a brother, Sanford Maynor; two sisters, Rency Godwin and Polly Stewart; and a special family friend, whom she loved as a son, the Rev. David Hun.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at Mt. Elim Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 13.
The funeral will be Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Elim Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
