She was a homemaker and mother for 75 years. There was hardly anything she would not tackle, from homebuilding to well drilling. Together, with husband, Harvey, they built two houses and dug countless water wells. She upholstered furniture, helped in landscaping, and until about age 85, worked in the garden. She also canned and preserved food for the family. She made clothing for her family and meals that always pleased. She crocheted sweaters, hats, dolls, and doll clothes. Many have dolls, clothing, quilting and other projects, handmade and given away by her.
She is survived by a son, Boyd "Butch" Hulon of Godwin; daughters, Patricia S. "Pat" Scull, and Betty "BJ" LaBombard of Raeford; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren;, and three great-great-grandchildren.
