He was born in Moore County on March 16, 1948, son of the late Hugh Pickler and Nora Hardee Pickler. He was preceded in death by his brother Duke Pickler.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid hunter and loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ronda T. Pickler of Lumber Bridge; son, Terrance Pickler and his wife Jodie of Lumber Bridge; a daughter, Katie Pickler-Rawls and her husband Camron of Lumber Bridge; son Danny Pickler and his wife Megan of Franklin; four grandchildren, Jason Pickler, Noah Rawls, Alexzandria Pickler and Logan Pickler; and a brother, Virgil Pickler of Ashley Heights.
A visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2020 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave. Raeford.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. following the visitation.
