He was born on June 7, 1934 in Hoke County, son of the late Walter Marvin Brock and Ophelia B. Brock. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany for two years in the early 1950s. He then worked in insurance sales/management with Western & Southern Life Insurance Company, retiring after 30 years of loyal service. He was a lifelong kind and compassionate caretaker for loved ones. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Myrtle B. Layton, and his two brothers, Roy Eugene Brock and W. M. Brock. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty M. Brock, his daughter, Melissa Brock, and a grandson, Levi Brock, both of Chapel Hill. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Jackie M. Lilly of Clarksville, Virginia.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at the Raeford Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Toby Neal and the Rev. Phil Horne.
